Corn-The Proper Burning Corn

You have just received your new Corn burner. Flashes of the money saved continue to pound into your head. Finally the Corn Stove is set up and ready to heat your home, now what?

Well the answer is really simple. Go Buy Corn!!!

Well, there is actually more to do before you get your new corn stove burning. After purchasing your corn. Look into your corn supply. You will probably notice that there is a lot of dirt and objects mixed with the corn. This is common, but you should beware if you neglect the dirt and crud and put the corn into the corn stove dispenser, you will be asking for trouble and may experience problems with your stoves auger, plus the corn will burn dirtier and the mess will not be to pleasant.

The first thing you should do upon getting your corn supply home is either purchase a corn cleaner or make a homemade screen to sift your corn. You should always clean your corn before burning in your corn stove. This will save you a lot of trouble with your auger, plus your stove will burn cleaner.

It is not uncommon for owners of Corn Burners to create a sifting screen with a four pieces of wood and some fine screen with holes just big enough to fit the dust and dirt through. It is highly recommend by all corn stove manufactures that you always sift and clean your corn before burning.

You should always store your corn in a dry location, preferably in a bin. It is highly recommend that you get or make a storage container to keep your corn off of the ground. Dry corn burns the best, while wet corn will burn, but it will clump up and cause auger problems.

Remember to prevent problems and allow your burner to burn corn cleaner and safer with out any hesitation, always make sure you clean your corn and always keep your corn dry.
