Crawford Road Bridge-The Legend or Rumor:
According to the Shadowlands.net, back in the 1800's a young lady got into a horse and buggy accident. Her buggy wheel or cart wheel slipped off of the bridge and flipped her, the buggy, and the horse off of the bridge, where she fell into two feet of water and drowned, trapped by the buggy in the creek. The rumor is on a foggy summer night you can see her hand come up over the road and hear her scream for help...I have heard of local rumors that if you park on the bridge at night and turn off your lights, with your windows down during a foggy summer night you will hear screams of a women yelling for help and then something will knock on the side of your car......(we do not agree or conclude that you do this, not only is a dangerous act, due to traffic, it is illegal, and could get you ticketed by local and county police. Remember never enter anytime of private property with out written permission from the owners of the property. This is just a illustration of what is rumor, and is not proven or actually said to be real)
Please messing with the paranormal can be dangerous, only attempt such with guidance of someone who has knowledge of such.
G.T.P.R.S. is only trying to find out the truth of the mentioned story, and doesn't always agree with the rumors or legends. Most of the time G.T.P.R.S. normally finds the rumor to be nothing more than a rumor.
Our Visits to Crawford Road Bridge:
It actually took us a while to find the bridge, since Crawford Road ends at one point, and restarts on Kelly Rd. But we were happy that we had finally located the Internet rumored Crawford Road Bridge located near Cass City, Michigan. This was our first visit, and yes during daylight hours. (Ghost Hunting can take place during the day also) We will visit this site numerous times both in day and in night.
Please Note: This may or may not be the actual Bridge the legend speaks of, but this is the only bridge we found on Crawford Road, near Cass City, Michigan. Crawford road does end at a certain point and there is a closed off trail leading into the woods. The property is private so we will see if we can get permission or at least ask the owner about the possibility of the legendary bridge being down the trail. Crawford Road does restart about a mile north of Kelly Road. The Bridge we visited is about a mile south of Kelly Road on Crawford Road. We will look further into this, but for now we will concentrate on this bridge as if it is the actual bridge they speak of. Until we find out the for sure if their is a bridge down the private trail.
The First visit results:
Yes, it is true, the water is pretty shallow, and looks to be no more than three feet deep, right now. You can clearly see the bottom of the creek flowing under the bridge.
During this visit we took a few shots with the digital camera using the 4 pixel, so some our shots and what we found could be contributed to the higher pixels, which can create a lot of illusions with the landscape. On the next visit I will reduce the pixels to about 3 or less, thus eliminating the illusions effect that the higher pixels might have contributed on the photos.
It was rather cool on this day, enough to give you chills, so locating extreme temperature changes was difficult. We did not have a digital thermometer with us, so we were just feeling for differences in the air temperature, and couldn't locate any.
The general feel of the area is kind of strange, but nothing to gloat about. I did about ten minutes of audio work and found only one suspect spot. Will headphones on it sounded like some one whisper lightly back an answer. I'm still working on it, and trying to increase the volume so that it can be heard a little more clearly. If I can't get it any higher then I'll probably toss it.
During the investigation we had no personal experiences to speak of, no voices, no touching, unexplained sounds, or extreme temperature changes.
We reviewed the video, which had nothing to speak of, and the photos. We found three suspect photos, one with a suspect face looking object, a shadow figure, and another shadow unexplained object, but nothing to shout about. I'm still reserved on them, and will be more inclined to pass them off as strong evidence if we caught more impressive pictures, audio, or video in our next investigations of the bridge.
For now, I'm still not sure, nor have I collected enough to consider the tale to be true, for now the story of the Crawford road bridge is still just a rumor.
New-We have made two more night visits to the bridge, and will continue to do so, we did catch a few strange things on audio-Horse Trotting, you can hear it on our EVP Page. David, G.T.P.R.S. Founder and lead investigator, and another member finally heard what sounded like a lady crying through the woods, but to our displeasure, we did not get it on audio. We will post the full details on both visits soon, stay tuned....
